No threat will make me stay silent about the oppressed.
Yes, this account is mainly about the Qur’an. But without peace and security, people can’t freely worship Allah or practice their religion.
Speaking up for the oppressed isn’t optional. Standing for justice is part of our faith. Defending the oppressed is a duty upon every Muslim.
@hamzadawud Yes, but it’s not true. Look to the story of Musa peace be upon him. In his lowest state Allah told him you have arrived here according to my Qadr. Everything was meant to be. This is our example. But we do from the moment we realize this is what counts
Two Christian terrorists, ages 17 and 18 ambushed the Islamic Center of San Diego during midday prayer.
Investigators found anti-Islamic writings in the BMW where the two terrorists committed suicide.
They had a gas can with an "SS" sticker, stylized as the lightning bolts of Heinrich Himmler's paramilitary SS.
They had "hate speech" and other hate symbols written directly on one of their firearms.
They even had a suicide note about "racial pride."
None of this requires a "we may never know the motive" ambiguity.
This is exactly where the anti-Islam rhetoric has been pointing.
Numerous political activists, commentators, and politicians have spent the recent years demonizing Islam and Muslims with blatant lies.
Hate Preachers like @TRobinsonNewEra, @LauraLoomer, and @JakeLangJ6 calling for Muslims to be destroyed,
Demanding mosques and elementary schools to be shut down,
For Muslims to be expelled, and that America/Europe is and must be a Christian nation, with non-Christians as second-class citizens.
That is a direct summarization of the rhetoric coming from nationalist right wing MAGA pundits and a substantial portion of the American/European conservative Evangelical/Christian movement, every single day, for years.
Politicians like @StephenM and @ValentinaForUSA have built their political identity around stripping rights from immigrants and Muslim Americans.
Even @realDonaldTrump campaigned on a Muslim ban. His administration has called Islam fundamentally incompatible with America.
Hate is taught and bred.
Two teenagers do not wake up one morning and decide independently to murder children with an SS-branded gas can in their car.
They are taught. They are radicalized.
They are handed a worldview by the adults around them, by the public figures on their screens, by the algorithms that feed them.
Three men are dead and ten children no longer have a father.
The blood is on the trigger fingers of two teenagers, but the fingerprints are on the public figures and hate preachers like:
@geertwilderspvv, @Ayaan, @DouglasKMurray, @jihadwatchRS, @KTHopkins, @ACTBrigitte, @PamelaGeller, @Acts17David, and @ApostateProphet,
Who brainwash these kids with lies and hate, and build the road these terrorists walked down.
Our brother Amin Abdullah was not the only hero in the Islamic Center of San Diego terrorist attack yesterday.
There are two other heroes who deserve to be highlighted with the same honor and respect.
Brother Abul Ezz managed the store inside Masjid Abu Bakr for over 20 years. Shaykh Uthman’s son, Yusuf, said:
“I remember buying halal rice krispy treats there everytime I went as kid because it was the only place in San Diego I could find them. He was actually the first person my dad (Shaykh Uthman Ibn Farooq) spoke to when he went to the masjid to become religious.”
Brother Nadir was also a father and someone who helped with the youth groups at the masjid.
These were not just names. They were pillars of the community.
May Allah have mercy on them, forgive them, raise their ranks, comfort their families, and accept them all as shuhada.
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
A brother gave his life protecting a masjid and a school full of Muslim children from so called "hate-filled" shooters who targeted Muslims for their belief in Islam. The media is quick to use labels when Muslims are involved, but when Muslims are the victims, they become merely “shooters” or “gunmen.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever is killed protecting his life, family, religion, or wealth is a martyr (shaheed).”
May Allah ﷻ accept our brother Amin Abdullah among the shuhadā’, forgive his sins, expand his grave with light, and grant him the highest levels of Jannatul Firdaus.
Allah says:
“And never think of those who are killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.” (Qur’an 3:169)
He stood between evil and innocent lives. May Allah reward him with eternal honor and reunite him with the righteous. Please support his family and keep them in your du’as. 🤲🏻
