Last summer I got rejected from internships at two prosthetic companies. Was sad and mad for a while. Some time later,I was like you know what Iβll make my own prosthetic. Got the designs online and assembled the @TeamUnLimbited hand π€π.
why buy a gift when you can use your excellent engineering skills to build one.π
did slightly mess up on the resistors and blew all the LEDs π
nevertheless, still better than the Mug I was originally going to get her π
In March @ConorMcGlacken from @openbionics gave a talk at @BridtolUnI where he talked about taking initiative and developing skills so youβre ready when an opportunity arrives. This greatly inspired me to further dive into #Prosthetics and #Robotics by building the @InMoov hand
and then shortly after that I invented my own hand which is a Frankenstein combination of the the @InMoov servo layout with the @TeamUnLimbited prosthetic hand in a laser cut enclosure.
Heard @BristolIG at @BristolUni was looking for volunteers for an experiment. emailed them in a heartbeat and volunteered.I love learning more about control theory and prosthetics. I Hope their research is successful and they can change the world for the Better.π
My brain at 3am :β hey remember that question someone asked you 3 weeks ago and you couldnβt think of a good response............I finally got a good response , and man it wouldβve been so cool if you had said thatβ

Interesting technique from Abdullah but A NEW FLAG nonetheless.
Legs have arrived at our new partner hospital in Dar Es Salaam, #Tanzania πΉπΏ
It took longer for Abdullah to get the nail in than it took for the components to get there...

@SighSam@Legs4Africa@meninsheds OMG did you visit today!?
I was there working till 1:30 pm (me and the other volunteer margarita were counting the new legs). Wouldβve been great to meet you. Love the work you do at @openbionics. I hope you at least got to meet Murray AKA the friendliest dogπΆ I have ever metπ
Yessssssssssss enough components to build 250 legs have arrived at the OTC in #Ghana - a centre that specialises in children's #prosthetics π¬π
Giant thanks to General Aid UK for doing the legwork (get it?) and making this happen π¦΅

Today I got the chance to go to #DOWHospital and visit their #prosthetics and #orthopaedics Wing. tβs pretty amazing! and they are definitely helping so many #Amputees. In the future they are considering the use of 3D printers Iβm certainly very excited to see that day.
