Prophet Lut’s(AS) story is an example of a violation of ancient hospitality law; the use of sexual assault by men against other men in order to subjugate and intimidate them. It’s not a condemnation on same-sex attraction, as that doesn’t apply to the context of sexual assault.

Superb muqadammah. Must read for students of fiqh. Great explanation of the Kūfan/Ibn Mas'ood school of fiqh also.

Best edition is Dar ibn Kathir. Qadimi Kutub Khana edition has typographical errors and is missing paragraphs.

When it comes to ilm al-shari'ah, he's very poor for a supposed 'alim.
