@renoomokri - I sometimes stumbled on your posts at times and wondered what goes on in your head while writing your piece. You mostly argue out of point! The UK just held an election, which was free, fair and credible. The voices of the British people were not repressed, and the votes of the people of the UK were counted. The figures were not manipulated, the voters were not threatened, the results were counted and viewed on a live screen board and released within 24 hours, the incumbent conceded defeat and congratulated the winner almost immediately even before the last vote was counted, the winner announced major cabinet positions within 24hours of his victory. I have not heard of any lawsuit or appeal in court contesting the election outcome, the election umpire was viewed to stand tall in integrity by the British, and the country is moving forward almost immediately... Are these not a few of the good lessons Nigeria, INEC and the politicians could learn from the 2024 UK election? I am just bewildered why you brought in Peter Obi and his chances in Nigeria’s 2027 general election. Do you want Nigeria to progress or do you just want to be milking from Nigerian politicians by remaining in their under-the-table payroll? You are hiding outside of Nigeria troubling Nigeria. If Nigeria were a good place to live under your political oligarchies, why are you not living in Nigeria? You are benefiting in a country you never helped to build. A road project was awarded for a fanciful figure plucked out of the sky (N15 trn). From awarding to actually destroying property along the proposed right of way took literally a few weeks - this must have been the quickest contract to mobilisation turnaround in Nigerian Road construction history.

The contract was awarded to Hitech Construction, a company owned by Gilbert Chagoury, a convicted criminal and former Abacha money launderer whose family raised their startup capital from heroin trafficking More on him later.

The contract was awarded to them by a government led by Bola Tinubu, an indicted heroin trafficker whose American criminal records were partially released by the FBI following FOIA litigation I took part in. More on that later too.

Hitech Construction has zero track record to suggest any capacity to deliver a 700KM road project (it couldn't even handle the 36KM Lekki-Epe Expressway, which is STILL unfinished 13 years after construction began). The Nigerian government doesn't actually have N15 trn lying around anywhere. This project has been set up to fail from Day 1.

However, the portion of the project that was apparently important enough to demolish Landmark Centre for, just happens to lie next to Eko Atlantic, a white elephant megaproject that has stalled for several years. It just so happens that Eko Atlantic is jointly owned by Gilbert Chagoury and Bola Tinubu, via the usual bullshit layers of corporate separation.

Constructing this portion of the proposed road could, in theory, make Eko Atlantic more viable, which would create incredible financial returns for the 2 criminals involved. It also happens that Eko Atlantic was - in an obscure and counterintuitive manner - chosen to host the new US consulate a few years ago.

This definitely had nothing to do with the fact that Gilbert Chagoury is a longtime donor to the Clinton Foundation and the Democratic Party. The existence of this financial relationship - which was so strong that Bill Clinton even showed up in person for a construction landmark event at Eko Atlantic - definitely did not mean that his wife - former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton - influenced the State Department’s decision to financially favour one of their donors. That certainly did not happen.

We can also be sure that whatever grossly inflated contract mobilisation sum that Bola pays to Gilbert, will definitely be used entirely to pay for road construction, and not for another purpose such as making a sizeable political donation to the Democratic Party in this election year, after the State Department intervened to prevent the full and unredacted release of Bola Tinubu’s 2,500-page FBI criminal file just a few months ago.

We are definitely not witnessing a transaction put together by a massive transnational state corruption enterprise that exists at the junction of local and international politics, foreign intelligence, and organised crime. That is definitely not what we are witnessing in real time, and anyone who even makes such a suggestion is a conspiracy theorist who is liable to tragically commit suicide by shooting himself in the head 3 times.

I left the UK and returned to Nigeria to start my career in March 2013. Most of the Nigerian international students I went to uni with had already returned since 2012.

Nearly all of us who came back started planning to escape from Nigeria in 2016. There was only one thing that changed in Nigeria between 2013 and 2016. We know what or who it was.

But yeah, "GEJ was a terrible president." If you keep repeating it to yourself 9 years later, despite being mocked by all the data in existence, that will somehow make it true 👍🏿

Me, I don't care who has any investment in maintaining this gigantic untruth because none of you feeds me, and I will speak freely - "GEJ must go" was a foreign intelligence operation run out of Washington DC by the US State Department, whose doctrine interpreted Nigeria's economic growth and growing partnership with China as a strategic threat to American economic and military interests on the continent.

The Obama administration repeatedly interfered very directly and blatantly in that election cycle. Barack Obama recorded and posted a video urging Nigerians to "vote for the next chapter." Michelle Obama involved herself in #BringBackOurGirls, which was itself merely the 'Big Idea' within the larger marketing campaign that was "Jonathan must go." John Kerry travelled to Nigeria and met with the opposition.

The local players on the ground who took part in the marketing and political campaign to oust Goodluck Jonathan and replace him with the Illiterate were merely useful idiots - yes, that includes you reading this with your guilty conscience. If the shoe fits, I am definitely referring to you. You were nothing but a pawn in a geopolitical tussle between 2 of the Countries That Actually Matter.

Because you lack wisdom, insight and especially humility, you really thought you were doing something historic by removing an incumbent president - a trick you have not been able to repeat ever since, because the US State Department - which actually runs Nigeria - had no problem with 8 years of The Illiterate, and definitely has no problem with another 8 years of the Drug Dealer whom it actively protects.

You idiots thought that you were empowered, politically awakened people, when you were just chess pieces on a board being pushed around by forces you were too stupid and egotistical to recognise. Now your GDP has effectively HALVED in just 9 years, and a whole generation of high-quality human capital has been lost to the US and its allies.
