NORTHERN NIGERIA AND THE POLITICS OF SELF DECEPTION AND DESTRUCTION.

My biggest problem with Arewa is our refusal to confront the real crisis facing our region.

Poverty is deepening, out of school children are increasing daily, illiteracy is spreading, our economy is weak and unproductive. Yet, instead of fixing these problems, we drown ourselves in empty politics.

And even this politics, we play it badly, we celebrate leadership without impact, we attack leaders from other regions, not because they failed to deliver results but simply because they are not one of us, just so one of our own can occupy the seat whether or not lives improve.

This is not regional pride, it is political selfishness and irrationality.

If Arewa must move forward, we must stop voting and defending incompetence in the name of identity. Support leaders based on competence, integrity, vision, and capacity to deliver, not tribe or region.

Political power without impact is meaningless.

Arewa does not need more positions, what Arewa need is results.

A new Nigeria remains POssible.

(A) The Middle Belt is the region of CULTURE, TRADITION and CUSTOMS, we have not abandoned our culture for religious identity,

We don’t pretend to be either ARABS or the Europeans.

During traditional celebrations, both our Muslim and Christian brothers come together in unity to to play drums and sing traditional songs to our ancestors.

(B) The Middle Belt is not a Sharia region

(C) The Middle Belt is a above all a LIBERAL and a SECULAR region; freedom of religion, no terrorism and extremism, in a single family, both Christians and Muslims live in the same house just the Yoruba

(D) The Middle Belt is the most ethnically diverse region with over 100 ethnic groups; Hausa/Fulani/Kanuri have their separate civilizations which is the Islamic Kanem BORNO civilization.

(E) The Middle Belt, in part of the Plateaux, Benue and Southern Kaduna, we eat Pork, and drink Burkutu, this is a better lifestyle than terrorism

(F) in The Middle Belt we don’t have Al-Majiri system, all our children go to school and they don’t become political thugs or beg on the streets.

(G) The Middle Belt is the food basket of Nigeria; 80% of the yams and cassava are largely coming from the Benue basin, Plateau State supply the entire Nigeria with Strawberry 🍓, Pineapple, Apple, Grapes 🍇 , Tomatoes 🍅 , Onions 🧅 , Cabbage 🥬 , Carrot 🥕 and Maize
