✨ PERFECT XI ✨

We are re-launching the next round of our new football predictor game fundraiser - PERFECT XI!

The concept is simple. Pick a Premier League team each gameweek and the points they get from that game are added to your tally (win = +3, draw = +1, loss = 0).

Finish on exactly 11 points to win the game. Go over 11 points and you bust - resetting your tally to 0! The game ends when the first player reaches exactly 11 points - when they and any other players finishing that gameweek on 11 points split the whole prize pot!

Do you rack up your wins early, but risk going bust with a surprise win when you need a draw? Or do you hunt out the draws early but risk defeats and fall behind the rest of the pack?

The first edition of the games’ result are included too.

Entry is £10 and the prize pot is 70% of the total entry fees received - with the remaining 30% going towards supporting Caversham United Football Club.

We are expecting a decent number of entries for Round 2 so DM now to get involved!

𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗠 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗡

On Monday, 24th November, our football pitch and the adjacent fence were subjected to severe vandalism. This act resulted in considerable damage to the fence, the playing surface, and one of the goals.

The individual responsible for this incident was identified at the scene, and a criminal investigation is currently underway. We will not be making any further comment on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As a volunteer-led team, we devote an immense amount of time, effort, and resources into creating and maintaining what we believe is one of the finest pitches for our level in the area. Naturally, we are heartbroken by this setback.

The damage caused has not only devastated the playing surface but also presents a significant financial challenge for the club, as we are now faced with the cost and logistics of making the necessary repairs.

We are currently working with the league to discuss our upcoming home fixtures while we undertake the work required to restore the pitch to an appropriate standard for play.

Despite this unfortunate event, we are determined to restore the playing area and fence. Our aim is to bring The Cauldron back to its former condition and have it ready for play in the New Year.

@MartinSLewis do I pay the mortgage of in full and look to save money/borrow money to do the renewals. My mortgage is fixed till it ends at 2.2% and if I was to potentially get a loan it would be a lot higher and would take me potentially 3 years to save for windows/kitchen. What do I do??

@MartinSLewis The mortgage is due to end in 2029 but the original additional policy ends this July giving me enough to pay off my mortgage in full. We want to renew windows/doors and upgrade the kitchen do I keep money back to do this and pay the mortgage for another year or so or
