A landmark achievement for India’s agricultural exports!

APEDA has flagged off the first-ever commercial export of fresh mangoes from Jharkhand to the United Kingdom.

The 1.5 MT consignment of premium Amrapali mangoes, sourced from Beura Farmer Producer Company Ltd. an all-women FPC from Simdega, marks Jharkhand’s entry into global fresh fruit markets.

Facilitated through APEDA’s export-oriented capacity-building and market-linkage initiatives, this milestone enabled farmers to achieve up to double value realisation while creating a sustainable pathway to international trade.
From Simdega to London, women farmers are taking Jharkhand’s finest produce to the world.

A significant milestone for rice exports from Central India!

APEDA Chairman Shri Abhishek Dev, IAS, joined the inauguration of the new office of The Rice Exporters Association, Chhattisgarh (CG), on 12 June 2026 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Bhawan, Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The event brought together senior officials from APEDA, the Government of Chhattisgarh, and leading rice exporters from across the region.

The new office is expected to serve as a key platform for strengthening the rice export ecosystem in Chhattisgarh and Central India, fostering industry collaboration, enhancing export facilitation, and supporting exporters in accessing global markets.

APEDA remains committed to promoting agricultural exports and creating greater opportunities for exporters across the country.

Major initiative towards strengthening India’s Basmati Eco-system:
Government of Uttar Pradesh transfers 7 Acres of land to APEDA, on a long term lease of 70 years,  for the establishment of Basmati & Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm in Pilibhit district.

The registration of lease deed was done in the August presence of Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State, Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology and Senior Public representatives of the district.

The project envisages the development of an Basmati and Organic
demonstration farm, an administrative building housing a state of the art auditorium for conducting training & capacity building programmes for farmers, a museum and gallery on the theme of Basmati & Organic, a seed storage facility, centre for organic input distribution etc.

The initiative is expected to promote scientific and sustainable agricultural practices, encourage organic cultivation, strengthen seed quality and traceability systems, and facilitate greater access to premium export markets, thereby enhancing farmers’ incomes and ensuring long-term sustainability of the Basmati sector.

This initiative reaffirms India’s commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture while further consolidating its leadership in the global Basmati trade.

At the National Workshop on Enhancing Apricot Cultivation and Value Chain Development held in Leh, APEDA reaffirmed its commitment to a defining milestone, the MoU between the UT Administration of Ladakh and Lulu International for the supply of 1,000 metric tonnes of fresh Ladakhi apricots, marking an extraordinary leap from the 1.5 metric tonnes recorded in the previous season.

The agreement, signed in August in the presence of Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Shri Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, laid the institutional groundwork for what is now becoming a transformative chapter in Ladakh's agricultural export story.

From varietal excellence in Raktsey Karpo and Halman to the promise of organic certification and global branding, Ladakh's apricot sector is undergoing a quiet but consequential transformation. APEDA remains committed to strengthening these linkages, connecting high-altitude farmers to high-value markets, and turning agro-climatic advantage into sustained livelihood prosperity.
