Simple, low cost (& even free!) web hosting that automatically enables SSL & Tor Hidden Service (.onion) functionality to help your website avoid censorship!
This is possibly the most important and long-awaited tweet that I've ever composed.
On behalf of @Twitter, I am delighted to announce their new @TorProject onion service, at:
https://t.co/Un8u0AEXeE
If your webhost terminates your service because you refuse to force your users to handover ID we will welcome you with open arms.

@_andyburrows@DCMS@OnlineSafetyCom@ICOnews Leading payments and other essential services such as search engines and hosting companies will not serve non-compliant sites and will withdraw services for UK users if a site is declared to be acting illegally by a statutory regulator. Many sites will want to comply anyway.
Some of the team will be in the DC tomorrow upgrading servers and routers ready for 2022.
https://t.co/LKlOQvQB7H will go down / be in maintenance mode at points during the day.

IRC is good fun but it isn't great for asynchronous comms.
We'll be shutting down our .onion only IRCd on the 1st of December and moving over to @cwtch_im for Support / informal Group chat.
PGP encrypted email isn't going anywhere (we use @ProtonMail)

We are disappointed to see that @krakenfx is preventing UK people from acquiring @monero.
Not only will we continue to accept #XMR but when we re-launch in 2022 the use of Monero will attract a discount.
Protect your privacy.
As of 18:00 UTC today we are no longer accepting paid orders for our SHO and MHO products.
Existing servers will continue to operate as normal.
2022 will see the launch of additional free services and full .onion only Virtual Private Servers.
We have started suspending free accounts that have never signed in and/or have never uploaded any content.
We will shortly be pausing the creation of free hosting on https://t.co/LKlOQvyZJ7 as we transition our free product solely to https://t.co/UgXvokS83n
We've published a few simple "How to" videos on https://t.co/asYkuUuWJO
This also doubles up as an example of HD (1080p) video streaming fine over @torproject; https://t.co/COc35dPYC8
We will be performing routine maintenance on our @monero and @Bitcoin nodes this weekend.
We do not anticipate much in the way of disruption but please join us on IRC if you experience any issues; https://t.co/BfhWkGsHgN
Given all the #IRC drama today did you know that we run a .onion only IRC server?
https://t.co/dxS2iJZY0Z
Drop by to talk about .onion technology, onion routing or whatever else.

Whilst this isn't a surprise our colleagues at @alliinase detected a correlation between the crawling of an https://t.co/MwADyg7lzk subdomain & its counterpart .onion with the publication of certificate transparency logs.
https://t.co/hcaaWaIh7x subdomains now use a wildcard.
We're taking down our Bitcoin and Monero nodes for some maintenance this evening to replace some hardware.
Placing new orders will not be possible until everything is back online.
Signing up for free services is not affected.
Our @torproject docker container for local testing of Tor's SOCKS5 connectivity has been updated to 0.4.5.6;

@akaclandestine FWIW having httpd listen on * would result in it binding to public IPs which, in the event of a firewall mistake, could result in a clearnet attribution.
If you aren't intending on your httpd / vhost serving on the clearnet then binding to a loopback or unix socket is preferable
