OMG! This is the craziest earthquake video I've seen from the M7.8 earthquake that hit the Philippines a few days ago 👀

A telltale sign of an ignorant leader is failing to read books.
Fiction builds empathy and imagination. Nonfiction boosts concentration and critical thinking. Not reading fuels mental stagnation.
Leaders who “don't have time to read” are leaders who don't make time to learn.
This is free advice from an expensive psychologist. If you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death.
Marcus Aurelius was right. You will lose friends you will lose lovers you will lose comfort but if in losing them you find yourself you have gained more than kings.
Recently, during a meeting of our Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, concerns were raised about the online conduct of some Law School graduates, particularly on X and TikTok.
It is important that Law School graduates remember that until they are called to the Bar, they are not yet lawyers.
The period between the release of Law School results and the Call to Bar ceremony should be one of the most solemn stages in the journey of aspiring members of the legal profession. Passing Law School does not automatically guarantee that a graduate will be called to the Bar. The Body of Benchers retains the authority to refuse to call any graduate who is found to be unfit, whether by reason of conduct, character, or other relevant considerations.
In the past, some individuals who successfully completed Law School were not called to the Bar alongside their colleagues. In some cases, they were only called to the Bar a year or more later. No Law School graduate should wish for that to be their story.
For this reason, Law School graduates should exercise restraint and good judgment in their communications, public conduct, and appearance. Conduct during this period matters. Anything reduced to writing may become evidence. What is written or posted online creates a permanent record and may later be relied upon as evidence of a person's judgment, character, or disposition.
While Law School graduates enjoy the right to freedom of expression, that right should be exercised responsibly. It is becoming increasingly common to see graduates presenting themselves online as though they are already lawyers, engaging in unnecessary public disputes with legal practitioners, and making pronouncements on legal issues in a manner that suggests they have already been called to the Bar. Such conduct is inappropriate and should be avoided.
Similarly, some Law School graduates post photographs or videos of themselves in full legal regalia on social media before being called to the Bar. This may amount to a misrepresentation of status and should also be avoided. There is nothing wrong with taking such photographs or videos. They may be kept in a personal archive and shared on social media after the graduate has been called to the Bar.
The legal profession places a high premium on character, integrity, humility, and sound judgment. It is hoped that Law School graduates will take note and conduct themselves in a manner befitting the noble profession they aspire to join.

Lawyers, delegation is a skill. You have to learn it. Most of you are hoarding work that you should be handing off. That's not excellence. That's a bottleneck.
Your law degree can take you far beyond the courtroom. I say it every single time, and I will keep saying it.
Walking away from litigation doesn’t mean your law degree was wasted.
Legal training has value far beyond the courtroom in boardrooms, compliance units, regulatory teams, and strategy sessions.
Rethink the assumption that law equals court. Keep an eye on graduate trainee programmes. Position yourself for compliance and regulatory work.
Build a credible, visible presence, especially on LinkedIn. Don’t wait until you feel completely ready to explore alternatives.
A law degree can lead into banking, energy, fintech, consulting, policy, and technology.
But many never discover that because they stop looking before they’ve really started.
Beyond the courtroom, that’s not just a phrase. It’s a direction worth taking seriously.
Pang final exams sa ethics this situation. The final question will be:
If he knows where Bato is hiding, should he report that to the NBI?
An easy Q, if you ask me.
i’m not super qualified to comment on this, but i find the pope’s framing here interesting
one very profound theme of christianity is that history began in a garden (genesis), but will end in a city (revelation)
going back to the garden is not an option. you have to build the city. but it’s up to you whether you make it babylon (babel) or jerusalem.
Julius Caesar was so deeply in debt in his 30s that his creditors tried to stop him from leaving Rome. He left anyway, went to Spain, conquered it, and came back rich and powerful.
Yes, you can start all over again.
