I fell in a pool when I was 3 while riding a tricycle. I sank to the very bottom while pinned under the tricycle. I somehow realized nobody was going to help me and I literally just swam to the surface and got out of the pool. I still swim to this day.

That being said, I'm not sure throwing the kid in is the best method, exactly. But it does work for many kids from what I hear. This one might not be much of a swimmer yet lol
