I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, “Never play fair in a game where others cheat.” It doesn’t mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they’ll throw dirt. Sometimes wisdom is not revenge. Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
The same parents who travel long distances to help/ grieve/ celebrate their friends?
The ones greeting almost everyone from church to the market? They model alot about community and friendship. Alot of us think we're too good for mundane things.
Let's be serious please.
Four USPS workers have died at the Palmetto, Georgia mail sorting facility since it opened just two years ago, including Eric Smith and Demarcus Little, whose deaths have left coworkers searching for answers. Now, workers are raising concerns about safety and the inability to reliably call for help inside the building. No one should fear losing their life simply for going to work!
FL police use A.I. to identify a vehicle theft suspect from surveillance video. Based on an "85% match" they arrest and charge Jalil Richardson. He spends 3 months in jail. He loses his job, his home, and custody of his kids.
Richardson lives in N.C.
He's never been to Florida. And his timesheet shows him at work at the time of the crime. No one checked before charging him. https://t.co/2AcQYwq30f

Ruby Bridges said the moment she finally understood what was happening during school integration was when a little white boy told her:
“My mom said I can’t play with you because you’re a nigger.”
She was SIX.
And she said hearing that felt like “a huge weight lifted,” because suddenly everything made sense.
Why the classrooms were empty.
Why adults were screaming.
Why U.S. Marshals had to escort her to school.
Not because of anything she did.
Just because of the color of her skin.
A six-year-old child realizing an entire country was angry at her for existing.
If the POTUS can make himself and his ENTIRE family immune from the IRS, why the fuck should any of US pay taxes from now on? Y'all aren't angry enough. 🗣️
The NAACP is urging Black athletes and fans to “withhold athletic and financial support” from public universities in states that “have moved to limit, weaken or erase Black voting representation”
Don Lemon: “If Barack Obama had sued his own government, settled with himself in secret, created a billion dollar fund with no congressional oversight to pay his political allies. What if he did that? They would’ve had him in chains before sundown. The National Guard would have been called in. Impeachment articles would have been filed. Can you imagine Fox News?”
The Observer reviewed several photos of other athletes who participated in the state championships Saturday and found many had similar celebrations to the one that got Mallard Creek disqualified.

I think that's also because a lot of people see the fight against segregation as Black people fighting to be around white people, when really it was Black people fighting for the fact that they were paying full taxes and getting half of the public services
there’s a reason our ancestors risked their lives and were murdered bc of reading + the elite are doing everything to make sure our kids are illiterate. our ancestors understood that liberation/organizing and literacy/education were synonymous.
Jenifer Lewis seemingly calls out celebrities for attending the 2026 Met Gala amid Jeff Bezos’s ties to Israel, the rollback of DEI, and over 30,000 Amazon job losses: “They showed up anyway… how much more fame do we need?”
I feel like the US is the only country where people act like it’s some kind of virtue to work yourself into the ground to afford basic life expenses
Meanwhile in France the standard workweek is 35 hours & you’re legally protected from having to respond to after hours emails
