My brief remarks in English today at the Kaduna State High Court after Mallam Nasir @elrufai’s case was adjourned until April 14th, 2026. We continue to stand with Mallam in solidarity. We are proud of his administrative excellence and his public service record from his days in the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Ministry of Federal Captial Territory and as the father of Modern Kaduna. I used the opportunity to commiserate with our brothers and sister that were tragically killed in Jos and Maiduguri. May Almighty God bless their souls. And may He guide we leaders to focus on the what really matters. The safety and socio-economic development of our citizens.
Signed
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai

Russia (specifically Rosatom, the state nuclear corporation, not directly Roscosmos) has indeed developed and demonstrated a laboratory prototype of a high-power plasma (magnetoplasma) engine. According to their claims and computer modeling, it could theoretically reduce a trip to Mars to 30–60 days instead of the typical 6–9 months with chemical rockets. However, this is not yet a flight-ready system it's still in ground testing, and the 30-day figure is an optimistic theoretical projection, not something achieved or demonstrated in practice.Key Facts (as of February 2026):The prototype was first unveiled in February 2025 by Rosatom's Troitsk Institute.
It's a magnetic plasma accelerator type engine.
Claimed specs include:Specific impulse up to ~100 km/s (extremely high compared to chemical rockets' ~4–5 km/s).
Power output ~300 kW in pulsed mode.
Thrust at least 6 Newtons (still low, but the concept relies on long-duration continuous acceleration).
The engine has undergone extended ground tests (hundreds to thousands of hours reported in some sources).
Sources: Official Rosatom statements, World Nuclear News (Feb 2025), Popular Mechanics (Feb 2026 update), Times of India, Futura-Sciences, WION, and others.
Timeline goal: Flight-ready version targeted for around 2030.
Why It's Not "Reality" for Actual Mars Flights YetTo achieve a 30-day Mars transit, the system would need:Continuous acceleration over most of the journey → enormous total Δv.
A massive onboard power source (likely a nuclear reactor, as solar panels become ineffective far from the Sun).
Scaling up thrust, efficiency, and reliability dramatically.
Solutions for radiation shielding, heat management, propellant mass, and crew safety.
Many experts view the 30-day claim as highly optimistic and dependent on ideal conditions plus major breakthroughs. Similar concepts (like NASA's VASIMR plasma engine) have promised 1–3 month trips for years but remain at the test-stand level.Article: "Russia Develops Plasma Engine Prototype: Mars in 30 Days — Breakthrough or Bold Claim?"Russia Develops Plasma Engine Prototype: Mars in 30 Days — Breakthrough or Bold Claim? In early 2025, Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom unveiled a laboratory prototype of a powerful plasma rocket engine that could, according to their calculations, slash travel time to Mars to as little as 30–60 days — compared to the 6–9 months required by conventional chemical rockets. The announcement, covered by outlets like Popular Mechanics, World Nuclear News, and Times of India, reignited global interest in advanced propulsion and Russia's ambitions in deep-space https://t.co/l2Rc1E1P0G the Technology WorksUnlike traditional chemical rockets, which deliver a short, powerful burst and then coast, plasma engines provide low but continuous thrust. In Rosatom's design — a magnetoplasma accelerator — a propellant gas (typically hydrogen) is ionized into plasma and accelerated to extreme velocities using strong magnetic and electric fields. This yields a very high specific impulse (a measure of efficiency), reportedly up to 100 km/s, far surpassing anything in operational use today. The prototype, developed at Rosatom's Troitsk Institute, operates in pulsed mode with an average power of 300 kW and has demonstrated thrust levels of at least 6 Newtons. Ground tests in vacuum chambers have reportedly exceeded thousands of hours of operation, proving long-duration reliability on Earth. The 30-Day Mars Claim: Where Does It Come From? The average Earth–Mars distance is about 225 million km (with closer approaches around 55–100 million km during launch windows). Achieving a 30-day transit would require average speeds of roughly 85–100 km/s or more, factoring in acceleration and deceleration phases. Rosatom's computer simulations suggest that sustained high-efficiency thrust from their engine — powered by a compact nuclear reactor — could make this feasible, turning round-trip missions into months rather than years and drastically reducing crew exposure to cosmic https://t.co/p6mTQHwCBj This Realistic in the Near Term? Not yet.
The prototype remains a lab device, not space-qualified hardware. Key challenges include:Scaling to megawatt-level power (requiring an onboard nuclear reactor).
Managing heat dissipation and radiation protection for crews.
Increasing thrust while maintaining efficiency and longevity.
Securing funding, international validation, and integration into actual spacecraft.
Skeptics point out that similar high-Isp plasma concepts (e.g., VASIMR in the U.S.) have faced decades of delays despite promising lab results. Rosatom aims to deliver a flight-ready engine by 2030, but that remains an ambitious target.Bottom LineRussia has made a credible step forward with a high-performance plasma propulsion prototype that stands out in terms of claimed specific impulse and power. If successfully scaled and paired with nuclear power, it could genuinely transform interplanetary travel, making 30–60 day Mars transits possible and enabling more frequent, safer missions. For now, though, it's an exciting laboratory achievement and a strong statement of intent in the new space race — not yet a ticket to Mars. The next 5–10 years will tell whether this becomes reality or remains a headline.
Prof. Amupitan insulted Islam, called Shehu Usman Dan Fodio a terrorist, spread lies about ‘Christian genocide and pushing divisive narratives that demonize our faith.
Yet, many Muslim leaders and politicians remain silent, leaving the Supreme Council for Shari’a in Nigeria (SCSN) to stand alone in defending our honor.
This man, who harbors open bias and enmity toward Muslims, is unfit for such a critical national position. No justice can be expected from him.
Every conscious Muslim must speak up now, demand his immediate removal and replacement with someone neutral, even if Christian, who has not publicly declared hostility toward us.
We will not stay silent out of fear or favor. President @officialABAT and his team must know: we see through the ploy to appease one side at the expense of Muslim trust.

NIGERIA UPDATE: ACCEPTANCE SPEECH by: GOV RAUF AREGBESOLA on appointment as THE INTERIM NATIONAL SECRETARY, ADC - The party platform adopted by the National Opposition Coalition Group - Tuesday, 1st July, 2025 - PART 2 of 2
We must be the party that talks about public education and actually builds schools. That speaks of security and supports real policies to keep our communities safe. That believes in jobs and works to create them. That stands for Nigeria not just during elections, but in everyday governance.
This is not an easy task. It will take time. It will demand sacrifice. But it can be done.
I ask for your support not just in words, but in action. Hold me accountable. Challenge me when I stray. And stand with me as we begin this journey to rebuild our party, restore its soul, and return politics to its rightful place—as a service to the people.
Thank you, and may our work ahead be worthy of the hopes our people place in us.
Long live our party. Long live our democracy. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

My dearest AREWA Daddy @ishakaa , I have an upcoming short essay on list of @MBuhari Government's Projects and Policies RECLAIMED by the @officialABAT COPY-AND-PASTE Administration. I hopping you can help me out please sir 🙏
@elrufai@BwalaDaniel My Leader and Mentor sir, may ALLah SWT bless and reward you for your magnanimity, even though the President's politically-deranged hypocrites don't deserve it!
@ShehuSani The correct phrase is "BEING SEEN", using the PRESENT PARTICIPLE, "BEING" and not "BEEN SEEING", as you put it. And the "AFFIRMED" shouldn't be in past tense either! I see why you thought distribution of transistor radios was part of your legislative responsibilities!!!
@ShehuSani Did you first bother to "EXPECT" Nigeria to "CRASH" crude oil price for Dangote Refinery, or are you just trying to prove that PLENTY HAIRS MEANS PLENTY MADNESS?!?
