MGYO Leadership Meets Grand Patron, Becomes First Group to Officially Launch Initiative for Engr. Gubio 2027.
"I am proud of what you represent"~ Engr. Gubio.
In a landmark political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, the leadership of the Mustapha Gubio Youth Organization (MGYO) has met with its Grand Patron, officially positioning itself as the first youth support group to launch its initiative for the candidacy of Engr. Mustapha Gubio as Governor of Borno State.
The high-level meeting, held in Abuja, brought together the Coordinator of MGYO, Abba Audu Benisheikh, Secretary Umar Kashim Kambarima and the Grand Patron, whose identity reflects the weight of elder statesmanship and continuity in Borno politics.
Speaking during the meeting, the Grand Patron commended the MGYO leadership for its foresight and discipline. He described the organization as a timely intervention by Borno youths to protect and consolidate the developmental legacy of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
“I want to sincerely thank this group for stepping forward at the right time,” the Grand Patron said. “MGYO is the first support group to officially launch its initiative for Engr. Mustapha Gubio. This shows courage, loyalty, and belief in continuity. I am proud of what you represent.”
He further charged the MGYO leadership to remain peaceful, united, and focused on issue-based mobilization across the 27 local government areas of the state. According to him, Borno cannot afford a break in the rebuilding process that began under Governor Zulum, and Engr. Gubio represents the tested hands needed to secure the future.
The Coordinator, Abba Audu Benisheikh, while presenting the vision of MGYO, said the organization was born out of necessity to give Borno youths a structured platform to defend the gains of the last seven years and ensure a smooth transition in 2027.
“We came to our Grand Patron not just for blessings, but to demonstrate that MGYO is ready,” Benisheikh stated. “From reconstruction to infrastructure, Engr. Mustapha Gubio has worked closely with Governor Zulum to rebuild Borno. Our mission is simple: continuity for Borno, for peace, for progress.”
Benisheikh noted that the Directorate of Strategy & Planning has mapped all the polling units in the state for effective grassroots engagement.
Signed:
