Meet the artist: ๐ฉโ๐จ
* Mom of 2 littles
* Obsessed with the idea of being able to play Final Fantasy music on piano
* Drinks more caffeine than water because it makes my brain tingle
* Loves creepy horror gameplay but would never play them myself because Iโd be too scaredโฆ
I HAVE to know. How many authors out there use to write on https://t.co/lDqk7W2PT0? Iโll be the first to raise my hand. I definitely wrote an Inuyasha fanfiction about Miroku and Sango as a kid. I wish I could go back and see if itโs any good. Hahaha
Just created and posted January for my monthly newsletter! It has lost of little extra stuff that I don't post on social media, including discounts, promotions, author/artist spotlights and stories about myself! Want learn more about me? sign-up at https://t.co/AddUbCUG4D
Playing around with this scene a bit. My first sketch I felt like the character ended up hiding too much of the background. I love his big floppy hat, but it does get in the way a bit. I'll probably try a few different mood passes next with some color.
Sketching out a scene from my children's book about a magical wizard cat and his fellowship. He's a little 'cat-astrophic' or a bit of 'cat-astrophe ' if you catch what I'm saying. This room is still a bit too organized for my taste still though..I'll have to mess it up more ๐ผ
Watching Record of Lodoss War for the first time! I kept swapping between sub and dubbed. And although I prefer the sub, I did have a lot of fun sketching characters like Deed and character adjacent portraits in that classic early anime style while watching dubbed.
The hardest thing about being a professional artist, is allowing some days to be "unproductive". It's okay to sit and sketch and practice fundamentals without the goal of creating a final product. It feel like you haven't done anything 'productive', you ARE still moving forward.
Never a bad time to sit down and do some studies. Today I practiced gesture and form by studying Aladdin's carpet scene. Such a simple design but way harder than it looks!
Sitting down to create, and your is just...EMPTY!? Where did all my great ideas go? Why does my brain feel like its running on Windows 98'? (Some of you heard the click, whirr of your 512 RAM limit clicking on and you are my people) So what do I do?...
๐
Just start!
What do I really want to do in these moments though? Play video games, watch TV...TURN OFF MY BRAIN. But I know I'll never see progress if I turn to those things. Leave turning off your brain as your reward for your hard work.
Working on Doggo studies the other day for my next character in my children's book and I this morning I was greeted by these cute faces left on my desktop screen. Such great motivation for the day! I highly recommend!
I'm excited for the new year! I have a couple of projects in the works, my platform is growing steadily and I'm enjoying what I draw! Lots of things to look forward to in 2025, lets keep the good vibes going. Artists, authors and other creatives, what are you looking forward to?
Working out some thumbnail images for a dungeons and dragons charity auction poster. Can you guess which character? Where are my Baldur's Gate fans out there?!
Me: Promote yourself! Do it! Itโs literally your job!
Also Me: But I am Le Tiredโฆ
Me Again: Then take a napโฆTHEN PROMOTE YOURSELF!!
