RIAA hasn’t made meaningful changes to their rules in 10 years. Meanwhile music consumption is more global than ever before. They’re basically giving you a regional award in a global market, and then saying you have to buy it lol. Even billboard changed their rules to account for a global market. RIAA is getting lapped in the race.

It hasn’t been certified Gold or Platinum by RIAA because 65% of the streams are outside the U.S.
