Ms. Kirti Tyagi has successfully completed her Ph.D. viva today, under the supervision of Dr. Y. Madhavi, former Chief Scientist, CSIR-NIScPR. The Viva-Voce examination was conducted by Dr. Harshad P. Thakur, Professor, Centre for Public Health, School of Health Systems Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

Thesis titled “Global, National and Regional Influences on Tuberculosis Policy in India”.

Mr. Matiur Rahman has successfully completed his Ph.D. on 08.06.2026 (Monday), under the supervision of Dr. NK Prasanna and Co-Supervision of Dr. Pamposh Kumar. The Viva-Voce examination was conducted by Dr. Krishna Sankar Kusuma, Professor, (A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre), Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi.

The thesis titled “A study on popular science television programmes in India: Narrative style and programme design”.

Faculty members and Ph.D. students attended the 3rd Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Transdisciplinary Lecture Series at the Lounge, inspired by the vision of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Sudhir Kumar Sopory (Padma Shri), Emeritus Senior Scientist, ICGEB & Former Vice-Chancellor, JNU. The session provided valuable insights into transdisciplinary research. The live webcast from CSIR–NBRI, Lucknow enabled wider participation, making the session informative and beneficial for the academic and research community.
