HAPPY PRIDE!! 🩷💜💙
I’m Kosi Ulasi, a bisexual Nigerian voice actress, comic artist, indie showrunner, and writer working in animation, video games, anime, and live-action dubbing! ✨
My indie show @AcademiaVI revolves around six kids and their film club at an enchanted school.
I just want to say that I condemn the use of genAI, and that my webcomic @AcademiaVI will always remain a project crafted from HUMAN labor and love.
If you have any, please share your indie projects/shows/comics below, I’d love to check them out! 🩵✨
It’s actually one of my fav design tropes ever! (Viden being the biggest offender of this) but as a black woman, I think it’s important we also see more diversity with black characters in anime/manga.
Desscaras from Ichi the Witch and Corvus from Gachiakuta are some I love.
So are there just no artists who draw black people and/or POC. Like at all? I’ll be scrolling and loving an art style and then BAM, they don’t make art with darker skin tones or textured hair. SMH

WIP of another one of my characters in Academia VI, Erena Fadel. A departure from the dark skin + white hair trope. I wanted to see more black hijabi girls represented in media, so here she is. 💜 :)
Viden Casimir, a lead character from my upcoming webcomic, Academia VI. 🤭
Out of everyone, he’s my absolute favorite to draw. I think I’ve illustrated him the most.
He’s not our only black character in this story, and there’s tons more you’ll get to meet in the future!💙
