@yaelharlap @AcademicChatter@AcademicPlanet @AcaHumanities @howie_hua@ubcscience Thanks for the links! I think the "two-stage" model has student do the exam solo first, and then complete same/similar Qs w/peers? Fw/outP is the reverse - see the exam, confer w/peers about Qs, then tackle the exam solo. Both great strategies!
Some people have a thing to send inappropriate messages to others. What surprises me that this person is a PhD candidate and still scientific capabilities being correlated with physical appearance.
In which direction this person going? 🤦♂️
5 years ago I graduated from my PhD. I'm no longer an Early Career Researcher! The PhD was incredibly hard, but the year after graduating was harder as I faced unemployment, debt & homelessness caused by the PhD experience. BLM, COVID followed, I had no idea what laid ahead
French Holocaust survivor Joseph Szwarc has denounced anti-vaccination protesters comparing themselves to Jews who were persecuted by Nazi Germany during World War II. French officials & anti-racism groups joined the 94-year-old in expressing indignation. https://t.co/lrjkNfTdbY
I bought myself a house, after 4 months of work (and waiting out my apt lease) I moved in, slept my 1st night in it. When I was a boy in foster care I used to think before sleep, “someday I’ll have my very own house and nobody will tell me I have to leave”. Now that is true. 🏡

“This may be the fundamental problem with caring a lot about what others think:
it can put you on the established path; the my-isn’t-that-impressive path, and keep you there for a long time.”

Lots of relevance for #AcademicTwitter I think.
