Boro's u18s also picked up their first win of the season, 4-1 at home to Everton. First year scholar Sonny Finch scored his first two goals of the season. There were also goals for midfielder Jack Stott and striker Alex Hutchinson.
Boro's u23s beat Southampton 2-1 yesterday. First goals of the season for Jeremy Sivi and Josh Coburn. Martin Payero played and there was a welcome return in goal for Brad James who it was feared might be out for a while with an elbow injury.
After a two-year hiatus, the #U18PLCup is back! Seven groups of 4 Cat 1 teams with winners and best runner-up advancing to the quarter-finals. Somewhat confusingly, this will run alongside the U17 version that initially replaced it, while an U16 competition will also mirror it.
