UNDERSTANDING THE UAE’S SUB-IMPERIAL AGENDA IN AFRICA
"The United Arab Emirates has emerged as a small imperialist country in the region," said former Ethiopian diplomat Mohamed Hassan, as he discussed the issues facing the Horn of Africa region with Sovereign Media's Ahmed Kaballo.
Hassan suggested that the UAE is looking to control all major ports along the African coastline and dominate Yemeni ports on the other side of the Red Sea, as part of its aim to engineer the biggest maritime empire in the world.
"It's a parasite system," Hassan declared, noting that the UAE was a nomadic country before "by accident of history" becoming very rich after the discovery of gas and oil.
Hassan connected the UAE's sub-imperial ambitions to the US-backed Abraham Accords that saw the UAE and Bahrain normalise relations with Isr*el.
"What the Emirates call tamadud in Arabic means expansionism...it is concentrated on the Horn of Africa and the purpose is to dismantle the Sudanese state," noted Hassan.
The walls are caving in.
A friend of Wicknell Chivayo, General Paul Valentino Phiri of Malawi, was arrested yesterday, hours after the helicopter crash. The charges include money laundering and providing weapons to the RSF.
The details are shocking.
Hey @grok, concise, no spin.
Did Israel have Hamas’s leaked 40-page October 7 battle blueprint over a year in advance, laying out the invasion point by point, with Hamas later executing it with shocking precision?
Yes or no.
@peterbakernyt@brett_mcgurk This is how controlled media whitewash war criminals.

When one remembers how the US begs North Korea for a chat, and doesn't subject it to the violent tantrums like the ones that Iran is suffering, maybe becoming North Korea is a sensible option.
There is unfortunately precedent for this.
Before word processing, document length was bounded by the human capacity to copy long-form text & plateauing.
After word processing, the tax & legal codes grew without check.
Justin Wolfers: crypto, prediction markets, stock picking — it's the same seductive lie that you can beat the market. 100% of leading economists surveyed by the University of Chicago say the best investment is a low cost, diversified index fund. Full stop.
They will tell you to move on.
To stop living in the past.
To focus on the present and the future.
Here is the present:
The wealth extracted during colonialism is in the present.
The borders drawn by colonizers are in the present.
The debt owed to Western financial institutions by formerly colonized countries is in the present.
The military bases on other countries' soil are in the present.
The veto power at the Security Council is in the present.
The terms of trade that keep raw material prices low and manufactured goods prices high are in the present.
The past is not somewhere else.
The past is the architecture of the present.
When they say move on, they mean: stop noticing the architecture.
Stop asking who built it.
Stop asking who it was built for.
Stop asking why the doors only open from one side.
We will not stop asking.
The architecture is still standing.
The questions are still standing too.
