Today we’d like to introduce our newest piece of tech – the IF1200 Inspired Flight Hexacopter! This drone is Blue UAS cleared and is described as a “rugged workhorse for critical operations”. We’re looking forward to deploying it soon with our Reigl miniVUX-3UAV LiDAR unit!

Last week we gave Dr. Jennifer Knight’s History Internship course a tour of the Access3D Lab! It’s a great way to show students the different projects happening on campus, and hopefully garner interest in upcoming lab projects for them to get involved in.
Calling all graduate students! This Summer A term (May 15-June 23) we are offering an opportunity to 3D scan Tampa’s historic streetcars in URP 6930. This course is offered as part of the USF Masters in Urban and Regional Planning but is open to all graduate students. #lidar

This week, we wanted to highlight the lab tour with Dr. Tykot and his archaeology students. This lab tour and short lesson on LiDAR scanning is an amazing example of how these technologies can be applied in a real-world setting. Thank you Dr. Tykot for these amazing photos!
January was a big month for lab tours! During that time, we were able to give a live demonstration for each of the scanners here in the lab.
