Double Shooting Under Investigation in Southeast D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating a double shooting that left two people injured in Southeast Washington.
According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred in the 800 block of Chesapeake Street Southeast.
Two victims were struck by gunfire. One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach, while the second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported one of the victims to a local hospital, while the second victim was transported by Prince George’s County Fire/EMS personnel for treatment.
Investigators are searching for a dark-colored sedan occupied by three individuals that was last seen fleeing the area toward Barnaby Street Southeast.
A heavy police presence remained on scene as detectives canvassed for witnesses and surveillance footage connected to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
