@Bokang_BigSis The noisy ones are still aspirational, often still hustling but haven't arrived.
True wealth is anonymous.
Many truly wealthy families aren't even on Forbes because their wealth isn't in their names, it's all owned by generational trust structures & Foundations.
They run over 9900 individual hotels & resorts.
This includes over 30 hotel brands in 146 countries.
Yet.
They don't own the building. They own the Marriot brand name and the management system.
Some business models are just fascinating with a little pinch of ponziness😂
This is DJT's stock portfolio.
Pretty impressive I must say.
I guess you can't do worse than mimic the President of the US, he knows a lot more than your Stockbroker. He definitely has inside information.
Many people ask me, “When did you start angel investing?”
My answer surprises them.
I started long before angel investing became associated with tech startups, pitch decks, valuations, and venture capital. My journey began in the early 2000s when I invested in a scrap metal export business.
In that venture, I provided the capital while my partner brought the operational expertise, sourcing scrap metal, managing logistics, securing permits, and handling exports across the border. Together, we built something that neither of us could have achieved alone.
That experience taught me a lesson I carry with me to this day:
Angel investing is not about technology. It’s about people.
At its core, angel investing is simply backing someone’s vision when they have exhausted their own resources but still possess the determination, character, and drive to succeed.
Whether it’s:
✅ A scrap metal business
✅ A farming venture
✅ A manufacturing business
✅ A retail concept
✅ A logistics company
✅ Or a technology startup
The principle remains the same: supporting entrepreneurs at an early stage and helping them turn an idea into reality.
Too often, people think angel investing is reserved for wealthy individuals writing large cheques into Silicon Valley-style startups. The truth is that many successful angel investors started by backing businesses within their own communities, industries, and networks.
Some of the greatest opportunities are hidden in everyday businesses solving real problems.
If you have experience, capital, networks, or expertise, consider becoming an angel investor. Your investment may not only generate financial returns—it could create jobs, transform families, build industries, and help an entrepreneur achieve a dream they could never accomplish alone.
Every successful business started because someone believed in a founder before the rest of the world did.
Be that person.

In my previous life as a young Banker in KZN I commuted a lot between Dbn & PMB.
This billboard was always a witty companion along the highway.
Rainbow is tapping into our collective nostalgia again & it's working.
Creative, simple & heartwarming, isn't it?
You can really be anything in life. It's possible.
Arsenal are EPL Champs & playing in the UCL Champions League Final.
That's the universe telling you it's possible.

@iamkoshiek Balwin's business model just doesn't do it for me. There are far too many variables outside their control. Property Developers in general don't make worthy listed investments. Their push for residual income came in too little and too late in the game.
Let's just say my appetite for these okes stopped RISING when they excitedly became Lesufi's lapdogs.
I read somewhere of how their lone MEC in GP was made Premier for a few hours by Lesufi and how this was read as some kind of triumph...
I expected better.

The JSE is valued more than all the stock exchanges in the top ten put together.
We have a long way to go on this front as a continent if we are to build and scale the next lot of intra-continent enterprises.
