When we talk about the #PactForTheFuture, the real test is how its commitments translate into meaningful action—action that young people can understand, shape and help deliver.

Today, I joined young leaders from across Africa for a regional session on the Gen Z Pact for the Future, an important effort to bring the Pact closer to young people and connect its commitments on peace, climate, technology, sustainable development and youth participation to the realities of their countries and communities.

Global commitments only become meaningful when people can engage with them. This means ensuring young people have the information, space and tools to influence implementation, hold institutions accountable and help shape the solutions that will define their future.

The Pact is about the future—but young people must be partners in delivering it today.

Young people across the world may come from different communities, experiences and realities, but many share the same aspirations: to live in peace, have their voices heard and help shape a future that works for everyone.

On #InternationalYouthDay, we recognise young people not only as leaders of tomorrow, but as partners in building peace today. Their ideas, perspectives and participation are essential to creating more inclusive, peaceful and resilient societies.

Let’s create more spaces where young people can participate, lead and turn their aspirations into action.

I am very delighted to share our recent #peacebuilding Field Guide. This publication is an outcome of 4 years of piloting an innovative method to foster youth-led #dialogue, #reconciliation & #peace supported by @swisspeace.

“Improbable Dialogues” was prominent in #Colombia. As a group of young peacebuilders we decided to pilot the model with a group of young people in conflict-hit regions in Cameroon.
Each step of the way was an amazing learning experience that inspired us to document our process in this Field Guide with the hope that it will serve young people and stakeholders across the world.
