The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is appealing to members of the public to provide any information that may assist in the arrest of Ben Shapaya, who is wanted pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by the Kibera Chief Magistrates’ Court in Criminal Case No. E599/2025.

Shapaya, a resident of Isanjiro Village, Musingu Location, Kakamega County, was arraigned before the court on June 10, 2025, and charged with the offence of Cheating contrary to Section 315 of the Penal Code. He subsequently failed to appear before the court, prompting the issuance of a warrant of arrest.

The suspect is reported to have posed as a medical doctor based in Mombasa and obtained money from several unsuspecting individuals by falsely claiming that he could facilitate the importation of motor vehicles from Japan on their behalf. He is accused of subsequently defrauding the victims of their hard-earned money.

The DCI is therefore urging anyone who may have information regarding Shapaya’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in bringing him to justice.
