@bookofflesh@JamesWu25427966@OliverJia1014 I used to tell those coworkers to please never bring in anything homemade for the holiday party if this is how they wash dishes.
@bigJoelad@Naximushf@ElijahSchaffer@MattWalshBlog Perhaps more customers would rather the shop facilitate the means to toast their own bagels easily and so the shop has provided what most customers want.
This is beyond if you want to tip or not. OP seems mad that she has to say No/ appear rude rather than about tipping or not.
@bigJoelad@Naximushf@ElijahSchaffer@MattWalshBlog It's a coffee shop and perhaps they don't provide food preparation services. I don't know. It sounds like toasting OP's bagel isn't part of the cashier's job description.
@the__matty__ice@raidertim305 @DogmaticBubble @auteurtheory__@JustinCowzynski@JOE_BA@MattWalshBlog But really though, just because Starbucks itself has automated parts of the drink making process to be more efficient and consistent it doesn't mean they aren't pulling shots and steaming milk. It's just easier. They still have to operate it precisely to meet demand.
@WaskelweeWabbit @Transfigurati0n @LittleGoatCR @PunishedGPS@AdamInHTownTX@NohSpinZone@MattWalshBlog They took your order, made sure it was bagged promptly to be ready for you in addition to their other tables, ensures that you get any extras you may need.
They waited on you.
@TheTikoMiko@JOE_BA@MattWalshBlog You also need to know how to properly weigh your beans to the right water ratio to make a good cup of coffee, the precise temperature to steam your milk without burning it, timing your shots properly so they don't expire before you make the drink....
I've also been a bartender.
@bigJoelad@Naximushf@ElijahSchaffer@MattWalshBlog Toasting the bagel isn't part of her job description. If it was she'd do it. And people are always welcome to get what they want at the store... but the store doesn't have the fresh-baked artisan bagels that we have. We can toast your bagels for you but it comes the way we toast.
@JeffBates8@suburbanitonup@oftenuncommon@MattWalshBlog This. It comes as a default settings on newer POS systems like Square and the screen must show in order to complete the customer's transactions. The screens are customisable but business owners don't take it off.
These people just hate having to say no when it's not that deep.
