Star would hardly stand still for a picture. She would rather come up and make sure you aren't hiding treats from her. This big and bossy beauty is available for adoption and her full bio can be found in our "adoptable" photo album on Facebook!

Freedom has officially been adopted and has left to his new home. Freedom's new owner is developing a strong relationship with him and we have no doubt that he has finally found his forever home!

We would like to announce the passing of our percheron, Traveler. He came to us in 2013 and passed at the age of 24 due to colic. Traveler was well known in the community not just for his size but for attending the renaissance fair every year in Moscow, Idaho. Rest easy Traveler.

We sure wish our horses would stop napping in their food....

This sweet boy has been with us for several years but has now found a home of his own. His new family picked him up today and are thrilled to take him home where he will meet his new pasture mates and enjoy a life full of love and attention. We'll miss him greatly!

Another adoption is in the books! Shiloh found his forever home and we couldn't be happier. Shiloh came in with four other horses last winter. All of them were very shy but have now blossomed into social and friendly horses!

Some Washington State University students made this wonderful video capturing what Orphan Acres is all about and the people behind the sanctuary. We love sharing their work and are so grateful for the help! https://t.co/3i1nrMA32c

Meet Rowdy and Rusty, two of the several new horses whom we have welcomed over the past couple of weeks. These boys are in their mid twenties and are integrating into our senior herd!

Bronson got a much needed bath. As you can tell, it’s his least favorite day of the year 😉

You can tell when Sparrow is done with her alfalfa because she likes to leave some in her mane as jewelry!

Dee, Sonnet, and Bufford are hanging out in their paddock. Bufford and Sonnet always greet passersby with nickers and perked ears while Dee prefers to be grumpy. It's the senior life!

Remi goes for walks as part of his training. On these walks his handler exposes him to environments he is unfamiliar with and gets him comfortable away from the herd!

It's lunch time at Orphan Acres! Some are eating, others are socializing, and then there's Quinn who's taking a nap in his food. Happy Friday!

Baby Maya decided to nap in the orchard and it was too cute not to photograph!
