I’m against patenting skills in acro.
If we truly want our sport to grow in the us, we should all start sharing technique with each other.
Coaches know how to teach difficult skills = higher difficulty = more gold medals.
Gatekeeping skills will only lead to stagnation.
Acro coaches in the US need to stop idolizing “high-level” or “world-class” coaches.
They’re humans, just like us.
Just cuz they had good athletes 15 years ago doesn’t mean they are right.
Remember, they are the ones who created the systems that we are limited by today
Sometimes, great athletes emerge during a time of intense competition and get remembered as mediocre.
Meanwhile, some mediocre athletes emerge during a competition “drought” and get remembered as great.
