CIF-SS Division 2 Championship - This Saturday. Asked about the closeness and progression of this 2025 San Clemente Tritons team, Coach Jaime Ortiz said “Teams that want to continue playing continue to work and that's exactly what we're doing. Our mantra is one town, one team. I think the big thing here s they grow up together. They play NJB Basketball, they play Little League, they play Pop Warner. And it's a family atmosphere. When you have a tight group like this, they'll fight for each other every single day of the week, and that's what family is all about”. SC (9-4) handled an 11-1 Leuzinger team 35-7 in Lawndale on Friday night. Next up: The CIF-SS Div2 Championship - San Clemente (9-4) against Los Alamitos (11-2) at San Clemente’s Thalassa stadium on Saturday 11-29 at 7pm.

Weather had an impact on the CIF-SS Div2 Quarterfinal game between San Clemente and Vista Murrieta. SC Head Coach Jaime Ortiz said, “We knew we were going to have to run the football with this weather coming in. We didn't know exactly what to expect. The first half, the ball was kind of slippery and bouncing around a little bit. I thought that Carson Sloan did a great job running the football tonight.” In the end, the Tritons prevailed on the soaked field with a 32-7 victory. SC will now face Leuzinger in the Div2 Semifinals on Friday, Nov 21.

The San Clemente Tritons defeated Vista Murrieta 32-7 on Friday night in the CIF-SS Division 2 QFs. Coach Jaime Ortiz of SC said, “I think we had a good week of practice. Our Kids were dialed in on the philosophy and strong scheme we were trying to do, and it paid dividends on the field tonight. They made some opportune plays. I think they realize heading into these types of playoff situations that someone is going home each Friday night.” Next up: SCHS (7-4) is at Leuzinger (11-1) in the Div2 Semifinals.
