Action for Refugee Life(AREL) is a community-based organization initiated in 2022 specifically to build a footpath to a Sustainable and Self-Reliant Future.

Kenya is a host to approximately 561,836 refugees and asylum seekers as of 31 August, 2022. This population 496,983 (89%) refugees and 64,853 (11%) asylum-seekers. The population continues to increase with a population of 559,282.
