Wildlife is flourishing at the former Wisley Airfield.
It’s a Site of Nature Conservation Importance and home to badgers, bats, adders, and other protected species.
The proposed development would wipe them all out.
The land where the proposed development by @TaylorWimpey would be built is highly productive, high grade farmland which continues to grow food for the nation’s table.
If it can happen on land like this, it can happen anywhere in the country.
Stop the development.
We are already facing a climate crisis.
The development by @TaylorWimpey will result in untold increases in light, air and noise pollution as well as sewage and rubbish.
It must be stopped.
@VawntWisley
Farmland is under attack like no other time in history.
If the development at the former Wisley Airfield takes place, we will be losing yet more farmland to infrastructure.
It just takes people like us to say NO.
@VawntWisley
The roads around the proposed development site are prone to flooding and are already in desperate need of repair.
Adding thousands of additional cars as a result of the development on these country lanes is going to result in complete disaster.
One of the major flaws with @TaylorWimpey's proposed development is the increased traffic and ultimately, accidents in the local area.
The site will bring with it an additional 5,000 cars on the roads, which are narrow, unlit country lanes that are prone to flooding.

The proposed development at the former Wisely Airfield is more than just a localised issue. If it were to go ahead, it sets a precedent for the same thing happening in other areas of green space across the country.
If it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.
@VawntWisley
The site, if developed, will generate untold profits for @taylorwimpey, but will cost local residents the world.

Great double page spread in the @DailyExpressRB detailing our fight to prevent the development of the former Wisley Airfield.
The piece details the issues such a development would pose, including damage to wildlife, population increase and additional road traffic accidents.

Rural Village Life in Ockham, these are the roads surrounding a site they think is suitable for 2000 more homes…. Wrong Location. @ActionWisley@VawntWisley .@HighwaysSurrey
We went down to the Ockham navigation beacon to highlight the potentially catastrophic risk to air traffic control posed by the @TaylorWimpey development.
National Air Traffic Services are also in opposition, stating “The current proposals do not adequately safeguard the beacon"
"The existing water infrastructure would not be able to cope" - @thameswater
Waterways will be contaminated and sewage will flow into the water systems if the development is allowed to go ahead, causing damage to health and the environment.
