While it's great to see Everett Transit getting recognized for upgrading its bus fleet to all-electric, it's a distraction from Everett Transit's abysmal level of service. With only one route offering 15 min frequency, the agency has a long way to go before it's a usable system.
We encourage you to contact @MayorCassie & Councilmembers who are active trans advocates, such as @LizVogeli & @CMPaulaRhyne, to demand bolder & safer infra investments across EVT. The city is constantly missing the mark on added safety for cyclists. @CoreyHert@ActiveChristina
@EverettCity just announced construction will begin on the Fleming St. Bicycle Corridor. Unfortunately, by "construction," they really mean adding bicycle wayfinding signs & shared lane markings, which we all know adds little to no value or safety for bicyclists. The city is
claiming the "project is part of efforts to improve bikeway connectivity & encourage bicycle ridership citywide in alignment with the mayor’s Climate and Sustainability directive." However, their measly investment will not lead to increased ridership or improved connectivity.
@kona404 Definitely check out the Mile of Murals in Rogers Park, head to Edgewater to hit up some great beaches (and the Waterfront Cafe), Andersonville and Uptown are a MUST (so many great places to eat + amazing architecture), the water taxi from downtown to Chinatown is bliss. ✌🏼
📢@EverettCity is seeking community input on the Madison Street project connecting bicyclists to the Interurban Trail, the upcoming Fleming Bicycle Corridor, & Sievers-Duecy Boulevard. Visit the project website & take the survey before April 18, 2022. 🚲https://t.co/KthSOLkmzY
Through April 3, Sound Transit is collecting input on alternative station locations being considered and evaluated by staff before further design and right-of-way acquisitions. Share your thoughts before it's too late! https://t.co/4ld0ASTJWs
1. Designing for traffic traveling between 20mph and 55mph, is inefficient.
2. Too many of our current transportation investments are being wasted on this inefficient range.

Even before the gas price increase, the cost of gas made car travel unaffordable for nondrivers. It's time to build resilient, accessible and equitable alternatives.
“There are some bus stops that even though my phone tells me it is a bus stop I get the feeling, Is this legit? Is anyone coming? Am I really supposed to be here? Because it kind of feels like I shouldn't be. Versus an actual nice stop with a bench.” -Annika, #WALeg D43 Seattle🧵
@MyCommTrans & @EverettCity are studying a range of issues related to the consolidation of services between the two agencies. This study will take about 18 months. Read more about the first meeting and visit Everett’s webpage for more information.
It's great to see @CMPaulaRhyne come out in support of bike-only lanes on Fulton Street! While such improvements will help create safer connections between Everett Station & California St, Everett is still in need of a more robust bike & sidewalk network. We have ZERO PBLs. 🤦🏽♂️
Another person lost their life while crossing Evergreen Way. Evergreen has seen several fatal & serious injury encounters involving both vehicles & pedestrians over the past few years. This stroad is dangerous & we urge @MayorCassie & Council to act -- lives are on the line.
Great news!! Seattle Subway’s SSB 5528 legalizes a pathway for:
✅ speeding up ST3 construction,
✅ system improvements, and
✅ Sound Transit 4!!

Can we fix drivers, and make them universally safe and careful? Who knows. One thing is certain: We can fix our roads and streets. Recent focus by mainstream media on the human psychology element of traffic crashes is a deadly distraction. https://t.co/QXfnzESHl9
The solution isn’t lowering #gasprices It’s building more resilient cities where people don’t need to rely on the high cost of owning a personal vehicle. Build better transit. Invest in cycling infrastructure & the pedestrian experience. Elevate people across all income levels.
