Another of our parent raised babies has left the nest box. This time it was this gorgeous Lear‘s macaw.
His sibling is another success, since we managed to repair a damaged egg and make him hatch... enjoy the cuteness. Have a nice weekend!

Another highlight of the week saw the arrival Garry Stack and Simon Degenhard from Australia, who brought with them lots and lots of gum nuts and casuarina cones for our stunning Aussie black cockatoos.
...Just another normal week here at ACTP. 😊
Last week saw a check-up carried out on our Spix’s Macaws. Our vet, Dr. Marcellus Bürkle performed endoscopies to check the on health and fertility of the birds. This knowledge enables us to set up the best possible new pairs for the next breeding season.
A Spix’s tree in full bloom. This incredible picture was taken in our new flocking aviary. These are some of the birds that will be sent to Brazil in the near future to be reintroduced to their natural habitat. Seeing photos like this, taken in the wild, will be a dream come true
Aussie meets Aussie...
Here you can see a guest from Australia with a beautiful baby black cockatoo in our nursery, can anybody guess which species? On this note we wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Of course we celebrate every breeding success with the threatened species that we work with, that goes without saying. However, the achievement is extra special when chicks like this beautiful St. Vincent Amazon baby are parent reared! #Parrot#stvincent#endangeredspecies
It’s amazing how time flies! The first St. Vincent Amazon’s have started eating on their own now. And also the baby, which is with the parents has gained more than 600g already. Soon they will all fly together in a huge flocking aviary. We’ll keep you posted! Have a nice weekend!
