Graham Stephan just accidentally made the case for Bitcoin while selling his entire real estate empire.
His portfolio is "hitting all-time highs."
But he's selling everything.
Why?
Because he finally ran the real numbers:
-Insurance is up 50% YoY
-Property taxes are up 20%+
-Real inflation is eating him alive
-His "4.5% yield" is negative in real terms
The saddest part? He thinks his "property values have appreciated."
The numbers show that's not even true.
Average price of a U.S. home:
2013: 360 BTC
2017: 23 BTC
2021: 8.4 BTC
2025: 4.2 BTC
And guess what? The index funds Graham is fleeing into have performed the same:
Price of the S&P 500:
2013: 1.97 BTC
2017: 0.16 BTC
2021: 0.08 BTC
2025: 0.06 BTC
The case for Bitcoin is obvious.
-No insurance premiums
-No maintenance costs
-No counterparty risk
-No geographic risk
-No property taxes
-No tenant risk
AND
-24/7 liquidity
-Zero inflation
-Verifiable supply
-Perfect divisibility
-No physical burdens
-No central corruption
-Censorship-resistant
-Open-source protocol
-Secured by the most powerful computer network in human history
I wonder why it's the best performing asset of all-time.
This isn't about dunking on Graham. He actually ran the numbers and admitted the math is broken.
But there's one more step in the analysis...
Why did Graham need to put his money in real estate in the first place?
Because the Dollar is broken. If you hold it, you become poor.
So Graham bought real estate, an asset that's more scarce than the Dollar and something (shelter) that everybody needs.
But real estate denominated in the Dollar isn't working, so he's moving to a diversified portfolio of index funds denominated in the Dollar.
Do you see?
He's not actually fixing his problem.
The disease is broken money.
Graham still has the disease. He just moved it from his stomach to his liver.
The solution to money is the only real cure.
Then you realize, the solution to money is the most valuable asset possible.
Then you change the denominator to that money.
And then it becomes even more obvious.
Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels are two of the most gifted athletes in the NFL — and two of the worst movers.
They’re WOATA, and it’s costing them their careers.
It’s the same reason why Malik Nabers tore his ACL.
Fix it before it’s too late: 🧵👇
Another week. Another ACL tear in the NFL.
People will blame the turf. But it’s not the turf. It's not a freak accident.
It's a pattern.
At what point do we start fixing the root cause? 🧵👇
99% of NFL players are moving wrong.
It’s why ACL tears, hamstring pulls, and Achilles ruptures happen every week.
It’s not the turf. It's not "just part of the game." It's bad movement.
The ONLY solution is to move in line with nature – how you were born to move: 🧵👇
If you don't read this you're a crazy person.
How to Get Rich (by being smart):
Getting rich means you are entering the wealth creation business.
Creating wealth is accomplished through three ways:
1) Leverage
2) Asymmetry
3) Time
Leverage:
If you are working for a fixed hourly wage, you have no leverage, because you have a direct 1:1 ratio between how much time you work and how much you earn, no matter how much value you provide. Make money while you sleep and you have accessed leverage.
Asymmetry:
Asymmetry is the factor that defines great wealth creation opportunities.
Asymmetry is “Heads you win, tails you don’t lose much.”
If I have a coin flip, and heads earns me $100 and tails loses me $5, I would flip that coin an infinite number of times because the upside is much more significant than the downside. Heads I win, tails I don’t lose much.
A good example of an asymmetric bet is the buying and reading of a $20 business book. The risk of capital is quite low, however the book may provide you with information that goes on to make you thousands if not millions of dollars.
Time:
There are no get rich quick schemes. That is simply someone else getting rich off you.
Look, here’s “How to be Happy in 15 steps:”
They’ll give you the 15 steps.
You’ll go through the 15 steps.
Despite all of this, at the end, you’ll still be able to tell yourself, “I am not happy.”
And then you won’t be happy.
Therein lies the real way to be happy.
Life is about complete self-discovery and full self-expression.
The more you discover about yourself the more the universe opens itself to you.
The more expressive you are the more enriched your spirit becomes.
Both endeavors feed off each other. The more you discover about yourself, the more you are able to express. The more you express about yourself, the more you discover.
Make the journey of life one of self-discovery and self-expression. This is where you find fulfillment, purpose, and exuberance. This is how you extract the most out of life.
I am already enough. I am already whole. That will never change.
That means no matter what happens to me, I remain enough. I remain whole. I remain everything I am and all that I need to be. Nothing can change that.
No thought, no person, no experience, no outcome, no feeling, no failure, no success, no achievement, no struggle, and no triumph can ever make me enough or take away from the fact that I am enough.
Nothing makes me less and nothing makes me more.
I am already enough. I always have been and I always will be.
You cannot look back on your life and wonder
“What could I have been capable of?”
It is your duty to find out that answer. Today, tomorrow, the next day. For eternity. Discover who you can become. Explore all that you can be.
Don’t die wondering.
You think your problems are so big and treacherous, but there is someone right now who doesn’t know where they will sleep tonight. They don’t know where their next meal is coming from. They’ve worn the same shirt for the last five months.
Be grateful for your “problems.”
