It just makes no sense to me at all. I write a lot of my modern AUs based in Canada bc I know it’s law and history off the top of my head. I wouldn’t make a story based in Canada but use USA law and history as that would make no sense at all. (2/2)

Writing a fic that takes place in a modern setting in the country you live in is much easier than having to do maybe 5X the research you would do in a country you aren’t living in.

Like why would I use history in another country when my fic takes place in Canada. (1/2)
