During my visa interview, the officer asked to see a document I hadn’t brought.

I had checked the official requirements several times. My application, financial records, employment evidence, and travel details were all in order.

“What is this document for?” I asked.

“To understand who is paying for your trip.”

“I am paying for it myself.”

The officer looked at my application again.

“Your application says someone else is hosting you.”

I explained that I would be staying with someone I knew, but I was covering my own expenses.

The officer asked me to clarify the arrangement.

I did, but I could tell my explanation hadn’t resolved the concern……..
