On the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) delivered a closing speech to a large audience as the Islamic Movement marked the occasion in Abuja today, 18 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH (4 June 2026).
The leader described the Day of Ghadir as a special day in the history of Islam, particularly because of the sermon delivered by the Messenger of Allah (SAWA), which served as his final testament to the Muslim Ummah.
He stated that the event was meant to fulfill Allah's command by proclaiming Imam Ali (AS) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS) as guides for the Ummah, and that adherence to Allah's command is the only path to salvation. He added that the event remains a trial for us, just as those who came before us were tested by Allah.
The event of Ghadir is not something new in Islam. Although there have been attempts to obscure it, it remains clearly evident in Islamic history. Citing the Hadith of Ghadir, which has been widely narrated by both Sunni and Shia transmitters, he added.
The Lebanese Parliament's Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc strongly condemned the US administration’s attack on Lebanon’s sovereignty through its decision to impose sanctions on members of the bloc, officials from the Amal Movement and Hezbollah, officers in the Lebanese Army and General Security, as well as the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon.
The bloc stated that the MPs, who represent a wide segment of Lebanese society, are fulfilling their national duty by serving citizens, defending their interests, enacting legislation in line with the constitution, reinforcing the rule of law, and overseeing the executive authority. It added that such measures will not deter them from continuing their legislative and oversight roles or from expressing the aspirations of the people, emphasizing their continued commitment to the Resistance as part of defending land, sovereignty, and building a just and capable state.
The statement further said that the US decision to target security and military officers through sanctions constitutes a direct infringement on state sovereignty and an attempt to weaken national institutions and pressure them into aligning with divisive external agendas. Additionally, it called on the Lebanese state to take a clear position to protect its institutions from overt US interference.
