This is starting to resemble the end days of a football coach’s tenure. Public projections of strength from the guy under fire, but the entire apparatus leaks anonymously like a sieve, and every leak is designed to do one thing: build up the pressure to force him out.
@alex_kirshner@MajesticSeabass I’d like to think teams are more inclined to
play these games in a 12-team world, but that appears to be wishful thinking.
Playing Pitt was fun overall, harmful in 2016. But it wouldn’t have been a hindrance with a 12-team field. 🤷🏻♂️
@billdifilippo The beauty of being a Penn State hoops fan is trying desperately to forget the single game heartbreaker against Temple so you can remember the list of dudes who were on the team since the last time they won a tournament game
@Poerbler We’re all happy for Miles now, but we also all have eyes, and anyone who thought that freshman/sophomore Miles Sanders should have taken snaps from Saquon Barkley is crazy
@alex_kirshner@chasehowell__ I don’t know. I’ve seen him turn Matt McGloin and Christian Hackenberg into pro quarterbacks. Dude has a little bit of magic.
@ralphDrussoAP @ben_breiner@AriWasserman@billdifilippo Agreed. You mentioned a few weeks ago that college football teams have a range of outcomes from week to week. That’s exactly right. Progress is not linear and does not always results from early experience.
@ben_breiner@AriWasserman @ralphDrussoAP @billdifilippo It’s worth considering that this isn’t guaranteed to go in a positive direction. Allar has the tools to be great. What if you put him in there and he struggles to do everything the offense demands of him? How does that affect his mental state?
@billdifilippo It’s hard to believe that people disagree with this statement. You know who definitely agrees? The players on the team hustling to get as many wins as possible.
