@EditorBTB@DavidLammy Looks like @DavidLammy has been reading the Labour Party Foreign Policy Group report "China's Place in a Progressive British Foreign Policy" from Nov 21 https://t.co/n98ByLO9th
@adjwilson £7 for a month on Discovery+. I pay for exactly two months a year covering Aussie and French Opens (the ones not on Prime). Think they’ll do you a free trial too
@BelleTimsit Thanks! You can find a video of the talk around which these clans was based here. Personally, not a massive fan of such typologies, but as an opp to share my thoughts on the topic, this was fun!

@NavinaHeyden This is such a flawed argument, relying solely on the idea that China upholds rule of law uniformly across the country. It does not. Laws are changed, ignored, manipulated constantly to fit political and ideological agendas, often in the name of another nebulous law or security.
@NavinaHeyden Do you not see the irony in railing against Twitter for potential free speech violations while simultaneously excusing China’s regime of media censorship?
@_Maria_Faust_ @MrRogerC@YCW_Global@TU_Berlin_CCST Hey Maria! Unfortunately as it turns out there was no recording...sorry! It's a bit old now, but here's an earlier recording of a talk in Berlin: https://t.co/sYOTPyxE9A
Possibly too late to register, but there'll be a video after the matter...speaking tonight with @MrRogerC and @YCW_Global on the latest updates to China's social credit system https://t.co/PxXOO6ZwGx
@Strat122 @kendraschaefer@MareikeOhlberg@merics_eu A nice study, but No.1 "possible explanation" for differences between German and Chinese respondents = "Chinese culture traditionally puts more emphasis on society than on the individual" 🤦♂️
@MyriamFrancoisC @BeijingPalmer @Fly_Norwegian I had the same - Norwegian flight to Boston not cancelled but I couldn’t take it due to ban. Insurance refused to cover. Norwegian will, however, let you rebook for another flight with no fees. So now I’m flying to Brazil for 10 days in November ;)
With #AAS2020 cancelled and London going #covidcrazy, I am social distancing in style halfway up a mountain in Wales for the next week. No internet, no plumbing. Time to crack on with some theory...
Cracks in the facade. People's Daily (Chinese) reports on shouts of "Fake, it's all fake" by residents in Wuhan, directed towards Vice Premier Sun Chuanlan on his potemkin-style tour of a local quarantine zone. Tweet on PD English since deleted, but still visible in Chinese
When @globaltimesnews correspondents start to quote Les Mis songs that call for revolution, you know something's not quite right.
(Double irony given HK protesters' penchant for exactly the same number - and Chen Qingqing's voracious hatred towards them)
