@tuviaspielman I would mostly agree. I would say that even if someone does not communicate, the behaviour communicates for them. Hence every behaviour is indeed a communication of a function. And this is the evident-based approach.

They will tell you he behaves this way because he has anxiety. But that does not explain why he behaves like this right now and most certainly does not advise you on how to respond to his behaviour.
