New analysis: @TatisheNteta, Jesse Rhodes, and I find that racial prejudice is strongly correlated to opposition to renaming Columbus Day in Massachusetts. We also talk about brand new polling on the issue. https://t.co/qT0jWXKYKo
NEW: @TatisheNteta, Jesse Rhodes, and I find 'hostile sexism' is hurting Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. This is (obviously) unsurprising, but we were able to leverage data before and after Biden dropped out to begin to assess its impact: https://t.co/YGlgZ45Vyb
Our recent polling w/@UMassPoll shows this is an extremely unpopular idea. We find only 20% of Americans support eliminating the Department of Education. 64% (!) oppose it.
.@TatisheNteta, @raylaraja, & I wrote about new UMass Poll findings: "...even controlling for a range of demographic characteristics, partisan identification, and ideological preferences, knowledge of Project 2025 is associated with less support for Trump" https://t.co/BLCDRQqBgj
In his first remarks as Harris' running mate, Walz once again called Trump & Vance "weird". How successful has that phrase been as an attack?
As we shared w/ @RollingStone, when we asked Americans for one word to describe Vance, "weird" was one of the most popular words used.
Today is pub day for @davedaley3's new book, Antidemocratic. I've seen Dave work on it from the proposal to the final copy edits. This book should be required reading. If you want brilliant prose and jaw-dropping reporting, buy a copy: https://t.co/3Yb86UK8wK
New UMassPoll results: "51% of Americans strongly disagree with the idea that Kamala Harris not having biological children hinders her ability to serve as president. The number jumps to 64 % when one includes those who somewhat disagree with the statement"
https://t.co/LakjNxwPN7
We find that 53% of respondents have heard "a lot" or "some" about Project 2025. That's a pretty big % — showing that the Dems messaging is getting through to the public. It also demonstrates room for growth to continue to get the word out.
