@pamsson Agree. He looks awful. He had that one fly out Sunday that woulda been a HR in YS… maybe he can build on it… get SOME confidence back. I dunno… I’m grasping…
Did you hear what Joel Sherman said about him? I don’t usually pay a lot of attention to him but in this case he was reporting what Pujols said about Wells (having managed him in WBC). The TL:DR: Pujols basically sung Wells’ praises and said he thought Wells is a great hitter. The implication was that the problem is information overload / position responsibility mental exhaustion. Thought that was interesting and made some amount of sense. Maybe there’s hope?
I don’t know if they lay down against the Yanks… I think when you get into streaks like Twins or KC, it’s gotta be a psychological thing at least partly… I don’t think there is a conscious stepping off the guess… but more of a “here we go again” feeling the moment the Yankees score or make a play that snowballs in their heads. It’s hard to break out of… but it happens — Red Sox took 80 some years but they got there
@pamsson It’s so odd — just look at leagues WITH a cap
There are actual living breathing examples of this phenomenon you’re talking about for people to see
@CamineroFanClub@YankeesFiles Started 0-6 in one run games
Now 6-11… it’s evening out
They’re 8-2 in 2 run games, which I found interesting
TBR is 6-6 in 2 run games
Not sure what that means, but thought it was interesting
