I made a robotaxi simulator to help guesstimate how much revenue can be made from Cybercab, Model 3, and Model Y. Let me know what you think! https://t.co/uVm1mkBCVR
This will be the trend. Most people on X talking about FSD are car people or tech people. The real users of this will be the average person who doesn’t care about driving, they care more about getting where they want to go. The passionate users will be the ones who hate to drive
Review of @Tesla FSD (Supervised) in the WSJ:
"Driving has always felt like a chore to me. The first time I let the vehicle (Model Y) take control, something shifted. As the car guided itself through traffic, I felt tension melt away. A few days before the federal EV tax credit expired in September, I traded in my 7.5 year-old Model 3 for a Model Y with FSD.
For someone like me, who likes to stay in control, surrender has never come easily. Yet here I was, cruising through traffic in quiet surrender to the car’s code and sensors. It felt like liberation. And now I have something better than a chauffeur. My car never tires, panics or wavers; it doesn’t jolt at brake lights or grumble at traffic jams. It simply drives, with quiet confidence and near-perfect composure.
People often worry that technology makes us lazy. Maybe it does. But in my case, it has done something subtler: It taught me to trust in the rhythm of the ride. It’s a small miracle I never expected from a car."
@chuckcook This has been a trend for a while and I don’t understand the logic from Tesla. I’d rather the car be in the slow lane for a mile or two than miss an exit. The reroute adds more time than being in a slower lane
FSD Unsupervised is harder than Robotaxi. Way more variables inside and outside the car. It will come after Robotaxi and probably further after than most think
Tesla knows how smart FSD can be so they are waiting until it’s closer to full potential. We only see what they send us, we don’t know what we are missing out on and so we think this is great, send it wide. The gap between the two is shrinking. My guess, early next year is FSD U
Just so we are on the same page, when Elon says 14.2 will go wide, realistically 14.2.x will go wide. The .2 will have a new feature and it will need refinement before it’s fully ready
