Every day a new tactile sensing company shows up. Pretty tired of hearing the same thing again and again as someone in the field that knows that nobody has solved the real world problem.
Either solve it closed loop or stop marketing a half-done solution.

Touch is the final frontier of human-computer interaction technology
Audio has been solved
Vision is almost there
Engineered touch is nowhere near physical touch
It's so difficult that it's not even an engineering problem
We don't know how to make that system
Okay there are exoskeletons that apply kinesthetic feedback, gloves that can apply tactile + thermal feedback, and some wristbands that can apply skin stretch
Putting all this together is the equivalent of watching a youtube video in 240p
Is there any physical concept of an ‘underground’ scene anymore? We just adapted its meaning to the digital world? I want a proper underground tech scene, music scene, art scene.
Away from the mass distribution channels and algorithms.
@krgeorge the problem with this is even if they design it, we are not ready yet, technologically, mentally, and possibly spiritually, for that step up in human-computer interaction
Trying to copy and be the ‘European Silicon Valley’ is one of the reasons I left Europe (Germany) after 7 years of education.
You should’ve just told them to be original and develop actual long term plans that naturally play to their advantages. Then again, why hold governments’ hands…
