Announcement: New AJA Appointments

The Australian Jewish Association (AJA) continues to grow our presence and influence on a national level. A key part of this growth has been in Victoria where we have a large, passionate membership and supporter base. As part of our expansion strategy, AJA has established a leadership sub-committee in Victoria.

This will ensure that the AJA has a dedicated team of passionate professionals who can plan and implement Victoria-specific activities, events and content that are specific to the needs and interests of that State.

AJA is pleased to announce the following Victorian State-based appointments:

State Director - Victoria: Tamir Aloni

Tamir will take responsibility for AJA’s state-based activities in Victoria, including engagement with both Jewish community organisations and the broader Victorian community. This includes establishing a specific Victorian-centric growth strategy, policy formulation and action planning. There will be a strong focus on combating antisemitism and the promotion of Jewish interests across the State.

Tamir is self employed and has a long career in Business Development and Sales in a number of industries. Additionally, Tamir has over two decades of experience in volunteering for the Jewish community and in support of Zionism. He has dedicated much of his life to support the Betar youth group and has been involved with AJA for numerous years.

Deputy State Director - Victoria: Adam Kreuzer

Adam will support Tamir with leading the AJA in Victoria. This will include communal engagement, strategy development, policy formulation and content development. Adam will also support Tamir on combating antisemitism and the promotion of Jewish interests across the State.

Adam has in-depth corporate experience in human resource management over two decades, and currently works as a Registered Therapist in private practice. Adam has extensive voluntary leadership experience in Victorian politics and Jewish communal roles. For example, Adam was Vice President of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum, and is currently a board member / antisemitism education and strategies officer for the AJA. Adam is currently involved in Victorian State politics at executive level and writes his own pro-Israel blog as well: https://t.co/yStU4Rlt9c

Greens continue their vicious attacks on Jewish community

As I have said in the past, these Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country performances are one of the most racially divisive features of modern discourse in Australia

Australians are sick and tired of them.

They are sick of being told Australia is not their country, which is what these things effectively do.

Welcomes and acknowledgements deny the citizenship and sovereignty held equally by all Australians and they need to stop.

I recall the promise made by leading voice campaigner Marcia Langton who promised no more ‘welcomes to country’ if the voice was rejected.

Sadly, this promise has not been delivered.

Australians should not be forced to participate in or be subjected to these divisive performances.

Enough is enough.

Pro-'Palestinian' movement turns violent in Melbourne.

Marxist group Disrupt Land Forces, the pro-Palestinian movement, took it up a notch with their violent protest tactics towards Victorian Police and their horses, as the Land Forces 24 Conference took place nearby. The Greens were there in solidarity with their cause.

“We know that eligibility for NDIS isn’t means-tested. It must be. We know that pay rates for health workers under the NDIS are in many cases three times higher than for similar work in other sectors like aged care.

“All of this useless, wasteful spending goes on with virtually no scrutiny or assessment. It must stop, or the projections that NDIS spending will blow out to $90 billion within a decade will come true.

“We need to bring NDIS pay rates back to parity with other health sectors. We must ensure eligibility for the NDIS is means tested. We must tighten eligibility altogether so we can ensure only people who truly need disability care are the ones getting it.

“The National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA’s) fraud and compliance branch must be substantially strengthened. Where there is rorting of $5000 or more, perpetrators must be heavily fined and permanently banned from future involvement in the NDIS.

“Last year Labor promised Australians a ‘reboot’ of the NDIS. Last year Labor told Australians total funding for the NDIS in 2023-24 would be $41.9 billion. According to the Budget handed down last month, this has blown out to $44.3 billion. So much for Labor’s
‘reboot’. It’s just another broken promise to add to Labor’s growing list of broken promises.

“Even more disturbing is Bill Shorten’s admission the problems with the NDIS were ‘worse than he thought’. He’s been the NDIS minister for two years and this rorting has gone on right under his nose. I shudder to think how much was rorted under nine years of Coalition government.

“One Nation supports the NDIS in principle. These principles include support for people living with a disability who really need it, and only for what they really need. Anything else is a luxury this country’s taxpayers can’t afford, and shouldn’t be paying for anyway. Following this principle is the only way to ensure the NDIS remains sustainable and continues to have the goodwill of Australian taxpayers.”

Indigenous Friends of Israel oppose UN vote on Palestine

Recently, I received a press release from the Indigenous Friends of Israel, a Cairns-based lobby group who are passionately lobbying and advocating for the safety and security of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. I was not aware of this group prior, but having now read through their press release and then their website, I felt compelled to share their message of support and promote their organisation to a wider audience. Such unequivocal pro-Israel support, positivity, hope and advocacy by their founders, Norman and Barbara Miller, is in stark contrast to the venom being spat out by the likes of hardline Indigenous politicians such as Senator Lydia Thorpe.
With this in mind, I am pleased to share my latest piece which I have just written, called: Indigenous Friends of Israel oppose UN vote on Palestine.
