@elliemfratt Can’t speak for all PDs but definitely having letters from people who know you best is most helpful. I generally want to see a letter writer who can speak to work ethic, knowledge, teamwork - all the skills we rely on in residency. Specialty matters but is secondary to that
Our next #VRF2023 session will be Tonight, Tuesday 8/29 @ 8 PM ET with the programs:
🩺Mary Free Bed Rehab Hospital @MFBrehab
🩺Penn State University
🩺University of Pennsylvania @pennpmr
🩺NewYork-Presbyterian @columbia_rehab@HSSPhysiatry
🩺Temple University @TempleMossPMR
@LillianJillson - Befonning to pick up on patterns - what fits and what doesn’t - is a very useful skill
- Work to develop a sense of “sick” vs “not sick” which helps you triage issues as an intern/resident/attending down the road
3rd year can be a lot of fun - I hope you enjoy the journey!!
@LillianJillson - Try to learn at least one key point per patient you see, ideally something you will see again (shelf, boards, future pts)
- Learn how each specialty approaches a case, which helps you later in calling on them for consults
- Identify good habits and workflows from your residents
@MVGutierrezMD@MFBrehab I saw that and thought “that looks familiar!” Always appreciate the inclusion of the paper and the discussion both there and in the letter to the editor - lots of good points raised!!
A special thank you to @MVGutierrezMD for her wonderful presentation to the @MFBrehab#physiatry residents on disparities in rehabilitation. You are such a role model and we are grateful for taking the time to teach us all today!
