I love bringing my past (as a former Parkie) and present together!
Mulchfest/Mulčovačku in any language is an amazing way to welcome the new year and celebrate sustainability! We're thrilled to be supporting this effort.
NYC’s winter holiday, Mulchfest, has gone international! This fall we met with @BloombergAssoc, who helped the city of Bratislava, Slovakia and Mayor @matusvallo create its very first mulch festival. Over 400 participants collected 1.2 tons of mulch. Štastnú mulčovačku!

Congrats to @MayorMikeDuggan on the release of @CityofDetroit’s new Climate Strategy & adoption of energy benchmarking ordinance! This is a key action in their plan, as buildings are the largest source of GHG emissions in Detroit.

Thank you to Urban Design Forum Lindsay Harkema, @AdamMFreed and all my working group colleagues for this thoughtful and provoking conversation about shaping spaces for healing. Careful and compassionate design requires safety, choice and community. https://t.co/V3F9WWr2mh
Excited to have contributed to this insightful report on how cities can use the #InflationReductionAct to accelerate their climate goals and ensure all residents benefit from the energy transition!
Our Sustainability team worked with @SustainChicago, @_slipstreaminc_ and @c40cities to understand how the #InflationReductionAct can support @Chicago’s Climate Action Plan – and ensure an equitable climate transition that benefits all residents. Read more:https://t.co/ryagoqCFFm
This morning, Sustainability Principal @AdamMFreed joined @NYCMayor to announce the New York Climate Exchange, a climate research, education, and public programming hub on @Gov_Island
NYC was developed around its waterways, so it’s fitting that its work to combat climate change is centered on @Gov_Island. The Climate Exchange, as envisioned by Mayor Adams & @stonybrooku, will help accelerate climate action in NYC and in cities around the world.
I was excited to be at today's announcement of the NY Climate Exchange, which included @BloombergDotOrg support for this critical work (and connects 3 of my passions - climate, NYC, and @Gov_Island)!

Here are the big takeaways from the @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released today.
First, climate change has already caused widespread and substantial losses to almost every aspect of human life on this planet, and the impacts on future generations depend on the choices we make NOW.
ICYMI: Our own @AdamMFreed joined @ThisIsPlanetEd + @Capita_Social to discuss the clear, present and growing dangers of climate change and its impact on children. While many cities are taking actions, there’s still a lot of work to be done. Watch now https://t.co/eGjyAvhUCj

1.Improving indoor/outdoor air quality,
2.Planting trees, and
3.Creating cool spaces in communities
An important read via @NYTOpinion. We need smart, nuanced approaches to accelerate GHG reductions and maximize the economic benefits of climate action! https://t.co/xhhohRqvT3
