Hunters On-Chain Day 1

Hunters On-Chain has the potential to reach regular gamers through its fun combat gameplay and simple instructions to get started.

I first tried it on the web browser through their @BoomLandGames site, feels good to not have to download anything in web3. 😅 It asks to create or connect a @0xsequence wallet, which I had for over a year now since I first started exploring the wallets on Polygon, it lets you use your email to login and we’re in, time to hunt!

First, choose my hunter. The Lifestealer caught my eye with its evil mechanical look plus the enticing attack name “Drain Life” that heals 30% of damage dealt gave me the multitasking fix I’m always looking for IRL.

It took me 3 times to survive practice mode, noob alert! First lesson, you can’t just go on the offense because there’s stronger enemies out there that will destroy you if you’re standing still. Second lesson, regroup and recover in the health bases and head back out there to drain some more life. Third lesson, pay attention to the time, jab jab and defend against the big monsters like dragons that come out towards the end of the round.

I joined their discord to share my beginner enthusiasm for the game and one of the lead mods shared that I could claim free $BGEM every day from their website, sign me up! Picked up 50 tokens and after accumulating 250 I could swap them for a free common hunter.

Although this is just practice mode, I had a good time trying to find a strategy to survive and attack. On iOS the goal of accumulating more XP continued.

Next, I buy a genesis hunter to try the full game and explore the different NFTs in the ecosystem like shards, artifacts and equipment....
