@bj_stansfield I understand the previous incarnation of Brand Tasmania had several unpaid brand ambassadors for the state. They even got the state’s produce in the world’s top restaurants with the ambassador program.
@bj_stansfield Exactly. The excuse I have already heard is we don’t have the crew here to do it but even you know we do and can. Offered to the Minister to help her build our islands capability in creative industries.
What’s Tasmanian about ‘Tonight at the Museum?’ Well just the location because nearly every single crew member flew in for a fortnight. Tassie crew were asked but our Tasmanian government grants and access provided jobs to Sydney crew. #politas
Can confirm the Foo Fighters have in their possession a Tasmanian AFL jersey. One of the senior director’s of tonight’s concert just carried one backstage. #politas
The Government has given $75k for the Boomers to play in Hobart tonight.
Big welcome to the Romanian broadcast crew, even though we have an experienced and qualified Tasmanian crew.
This is why we’re building a creative industries peak body.

Minister Ogilvie says of a “disconnect” / cabinet division between her and Minister Ellis relating to the gutting of skills education whilst giving her apologies. Seems like it was a blindside. #politas
If you’re in our Tas creative industries, I ask that you fill out this survey as we build an industry peak body.
With many responses already, it’s imperative that all of those involved are included. There are common themes appearing already.

We’re building a creative industries peak body for Tasmania.
For too long, this industry haven’t had a say, now, we will have a seat at the table.
9,000 are directly employed in the creative and cultural industries of Tasmania. It’s a strategic part of our economy.

The Arts isn't a key driver of our economy according to the state government but...
"9000 Tasmanians who are directly employed in the cultural and creative industries with countless more indirectly employed through the related tourism, hospitality and retails sectors." #politas
While Minister Ellis criticises our creative sector and many of the small businesses who contribute in it, I along with others have written to Minister Ogilvie to ask for her to show support of the arts industry as Minister. We haven’t heard back. #politas
How good could a functioning creative sector for Tasmania be? It’s an advanced manufacturing industry creating many hundreds of jobs for broadcast, film and theatre. #politas
The Survivors, starring Charlie Vickers and Yerin Ha, premieres June 6.
Secrets don't die with the dead. A young woman's murder unravels long-held secrets in a tight-knit Tasmanian town.
Ok, serious question for a sports loving government, which pollie killed off road cycling? I’ve heard the recently introduced red tape has made it impossible to hold club races. A sport I grew up with and loved. #politas
Very sad news from the Huon/Hobart tonight. The historic vessel Cartela has succumbed to taking on water. She'll be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, both those who sailed aboard and those who admired her from the shore. A true Hobart icon. #politas
@elonmusk Have a look how Tasmania prepares for fire season. It’s world class from one of the most fire prone places in the world with a fuel reduction program, many local bridges, hot day responses etc.
A solemn ceremony on the Derwent: a lone bagpiper's lament echoes across the water as hundreds watch from the shore. Remembering those lost 50 years ago in the Tasman Bridge disaster, its impact still felt today.
@bj_stansfield Christ. I cut at least 5 stories per day at the cross. The radio news journo in the am had to do a 3 min bulletin every half hour from 0600-0900 of 2:30 local content
