@texasrunnerDFW How generous were the incentives provided by Allen to lure the Hub? I met with them years ago about a location in Flower Mound and their ask was substantial.
@townbrad What happens when the mavs arena deal falls through? Do they threaten to move the team as leverage? Would they actually do it? The ownership doesn't seem to care about the city or the fans.
A starter home is an older, smaller home on a small lot. New construction commands top-of-market prices.
Affordable homes in Flower Mound aren't coming on the market because neighborhoods have converted to rentals, locking out first-time buyers. Let's fix that problem.
We want builders to build starter homes at $200–250k so the next generation can actually... start.
Instead, they sell $400–500k+ homes and call them “starter homes.”
$3,190/month is NOT a starter home.
@Forbes In 2020 this same author wrote "even without the tax breaks, wind and solar are now cheaper than fossil fuels". So why do they still need taxpayer funded incentives?
@christopherrufo Out of state & foreign investors are buying up affordable homes and converting them into rentals. This locks first time buyers out of the market and drives up prices. All these "supply side" solutions do is make everyone into perpetual renters. https://t.co/A24vznp9l1
@junior_miller Once the voters turn down the new arena, they will have justification to relocate. That's why they have been taking about a new arena recently. Honestly I think this was the plan all along and I think Adam Silver is part of it.
